Riesgo de Firma
español al inglés
Negocios/Finanzas
Finanzas (general)
Banking
The phrase comes from this sentence: 'Especialmente destacado fue el crecimiento del volumen de Riesgo de Firma (avales y negocio documentario), que alcanzó.....' The sentence comes from a bank's report on its annual financial statement. I just can't find a convincing translation for 'Riesgo de Firma', your help would be appreciated. Thanks to all of you.
By the way this is Spanish from Spain (castellano) and I´m tanslating into British English.

: Not here. The asker specified: volumen de Riesgo de Firma (avales y negocio documentario). The risk for the company itself, and not the risk taken by an investor by investing in a certain company.

: But we don't want any exhibitionists on public transport indulging in 'indecent exposure', whether in Madrid or London or even behind the bushes of Lincoln's Inn Fields http://www.proz.com/?sp=gloss/term&id=3557001

: What you are describing are called "contingent liabilities." The Bank of Spain is the central bank and the figures shown are aggregates for depositary institutions. The "company risk" of a bank includes contingent liabilities. Hence what BOE is saying.
