Nick Taylor Apr 5, 2016:
In the UK A Recycling Point is the interface between the public and the final distribution of the "waste" materials. I.e. the site is divided into various areas for people to drop off Fridges, Clothes. Gas bottles. Car batteries. Paper. Glass. Plastics. Reusable stuff like bicycles. Metals. Garden waste. (Up to 20 or so different categories. The material is then distributed to Recycling Plants ( type of factories).
The original "Ponto de retoma" isnt really very clear to be honest. http://www.netresiduos.com/content.aspx?menuid=28&eid=294
Mario Freitas Apr 5, 2016:
Então: Recycling vs. Retrieval, collection, reclaim, etc.
Tania Pires (asker) Apr 5, 2016:
@ Nick I see what you mean. Seriously, I do! The thing is that they talk about 'Retoma' and recycling throughout the entire text, so if I put 'recycling' it's going to be really confusing.
Nick Taylor Apr 5, 2016:
Tania - Recycling POINT is not a recycling plant!

Obrigada Matheus!

Thanks Nick, but in this case it won't do. That's another part of waste management. I think these are the collection points before recycling.

acceptance points

(another possibility)

Used car accumulators can be delivered to the car services, car spare part shops, the nearest scrap metal acceptance points or waste sorting plants. They are stored in special acid-resistant containers. As part of waste collection system, ECO collects the used accumulators from the acceptance points and forwards them for recycling.
