English term

banging the close

English to Serbian Bus/Financial Finance (general)
Experts cite several techniques that traders allegedly used to manipulate the WM/Reuters Closing Spot Rates and ECB fix and, consequently, the prices paid for FX transactions. The three most commonly cited techniques are “front running," "banging the close," and “painting the screen."

“Banging the close,” which refers to aggressive buying or selling of currencies in the 60-second “fix” window, using client orders stockpiled by traders in the period leading up to 4 p.m.

disagree Daryo : to je prevod opisa a ne prevod izraza + deluje krajnje neutralno dok je "banging the close" prilično slikovit izraz

You're right, but sometimes we have no choice! That's the way it's translated in some languages such as Dutch! Regards!

"prasak pred zatvaranje" ("banging the close")

Banging the Close: A manipulative or disruptive trading practice whereby a trader buys or sells a large number of futures contracts during the closing period of a futures contract (that is, the period during which the futures settlement price is determined) in order to benefit an even larger position in an option, swap, or other derivative that is cash settled based on the futures settlement price on that day.

“Banging the close” is another new term meant to describe when a trader puts orders into the market at the very end of the trading day with the intention of pushing the market one way or another. The trader’s purpose in “banging the close” is to make his position look better than it would have looked otherwise. The term “banging the close” may be new, but trying to push the market in a favorable direction at the end of the day predates all of us.

agree Daryo : "јуриш пред затварање" / "јуриш пре затварања"?
