I am translating a marketing document about a very famous US publication.
The text says:
"This full color collection of more than 400,000 pages provides a unique, rich lens into American and international popular culture in the 20th and 21st centuries. Serving as a comprehensive record of some of the most influential work from world-renowned designers, models, photographers, stylists, and illustrators of this century and the last, the XX tells an enduring visual research story".
I can't really get the part "enduring visual research story". Is visual relating to this 'visual' collection, ie, designers, photographers, ect.? Then what about research?
