resumed proceedings
this refers to resumption of proceedings after they have been interrupted, under Art. 303 of the Code of Civil Procedure

But it's not "revisiting" the matter as such - the riassunzione is just what it says - a resumption of the SAME proceedings which were interrupted for some reason. An appeal would be against a ruling, and therefore a second instance

yes, it could be, of course; whether the proceedings are at first instance or an appeal against a previous judgment is not specified, although if it is disputing an assessment made by the Bank of Italy, then appeal would be appropriate. Either way, as I said, these are in some way "resumed" proceedings

Note from asker:
From what I've read in Italian, your suggestion is certainly "appealing", but I'm wondering if the best solution lies somewhere between yours and the above solution "appeal petition"--an appeal to revisit the matter, but I need something "smooth". BTW the client is in Madrid and favors, I mean favours, UK English. |
Thinking of "ricorso", would this be a "resumed appeal"? BTW, I should have noted that the dispute is with the Bank of Italy, not the Tax Authorities. |
