English term

legal name

English to Danish Law/Patents Law (general)
I have been trying to register for inclusion in a US agency's database. The first field to fill in was "legal name". I thought this meant my full name, but I could get no further because a "prefix" was required. I have no idea what is meant. Everything I tried was rejected. I would be grateful for an explanation.
Proposed translations (Danish)
4 +1 Ms or Mr

Ms or Mr

You just need to enter Ms as the prefix and then your name. Let me know if that works. :)
