German term
MF/G
German to English
Law/Patents
Real Estate
Architectural Contract
Here is the context:
My translation:
1.3 Floor area and floor area efficiency
The total gross floor area shall be approx. xx m2 to a maximum of xx m2 above ground plus approx. xx m2 underground, which shall allow for at least 150 parking spaces to be created in an automatic parking system.
With a required floor area efficiency of approx. --% for lower levels and --% for upper levels and approx. --% for the development areas and infrastructure areas, there must be a total leasable, above ground floor area of approx. xx m2 according to the GIF (Gesellschaft für Immobilienwirtschaftliche Forschung e.V. [Society for Property Researchers, Germany]) MF/G.
What exactly is "MF/G"? Is it Mietfläche / Grundfläche? The sentence is speaking of percentages, so this must be directly related. I just am not sure what to think of it.
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks, Ellen. This has to be it. I can't imagine it another option. |

I should add that you may have to abandon the "Exact Match" criterion altogether if you want to look on ProZ and not on Google. Otherwise, links like these will not show up because of the limitations mentioned in parentheses: http://www.proz.com/kudoz/german_to_english/bus_financial/93...
Even worse: My last glossary entry still doesn't show up when searching for Impressum while leaving both "Exact match" and "Match whole words only" unchecked - ugh.
See: http://www.proz.com/kudoz/german_to_english/printing_publish...
Really don't know why Proz just doesn't incorporate Google search into the website, but yeah.
Best of luck to you and best wishes
In this case, it actually may be the slash that is preventing you from "getting through."
RE Google:
Can you click on my link?

These are the parameters required for a Google search of Proz. You'll see that the first question is yours, the second contains Armorel's answer, the third mine. You may have to add the language (pair) before "site:proz.com" to narrow it down if there are too many Ghits.
This is the only way I know how to search the database properly (with or without quotation marks, depending on what level of precision you need). Sometimes, it may even help if this question has been asked in another language (which you'll find with fewer search parameters).
Best wishes
First, by Armorel in 2011:

Second by me not even a year ago:

I'd have scrapped my answer if I hadn't suggested a different term, should someone not feel comfortable with the version translated by Germans.
You'd need to use Google to properly search the database. See my conversation with writeaway there.
