Compared thesis and characteristics of pesticides used

English to French Tech/Engineering Biology (-tech,-chem,micro-) thesis
The translation concerns a review of efficiency during a test done on different vine plots, one being a reference plot and other plots being plots where different doses of chemicals are used to compare the effect on plants according to the dosage.

I have never seen 'thesis' used in that context; is it to be translated as 'thèse' like in an academic context?

Dans ce contexte, je crois que thesis/theses = hypothèse/s, sinon même "thèse" - comme dans "zero-growth thesis", par exemple (= +/- théorie). Dans cette phrase, j'ai cependant l'impression qu'on parle des "sujets" (vine plots distincts) - par métonymie, peut-être? Une autre possibilité: schèmes - qui désignerait aussi chaque vine plot compte tenu des hypothèses posées à son égard.

Here is another example of 'thesis/theses' used in the same document:
"All the theses were treated with an experimental sprayer with handgun, with a volume of 1,000 L/ha (table 1)."
