Spanish term

sobre el que más incide

Spanish to English Other Construction / Civil Engineering Environmental Assessment Impact - PV Plant
Source text:

My try:

Please, indicate actions [to be taken] by the PV project [to protect the project] landscape.

Landscape is a key environmental factor, and it is the environmental aspect mostly affected by this sort of energy...

Discussion

Lydianette Soza (asker) Feb 1, 2018:
Thanks for the suggestion David. I'll take it into account.
David Hollywood Jan 31, 2018:
I wouldn't leave it out
Lydianette Soza (asker) Jan 30, 2018:
I think I could leave out ", and it is the environmental aspect"

Landscape is a key environmental factor, and it is the most affected by this sort of energy

which suffers most from

In everyday (UK) native English (where, out of empathy for the eternal sufferer, we tend to turn these things around and express them in the passive voice):

es el aspecto ambiental sobre el que más incide ...
-->
is the environmental aspect which most suffers from [this kind of project]

has the greatest effect on

I think if the sentence is recast a little bit, it works better in English:
"... It is the aspect that this type of energy project has the greatest effect on, and that is the most difficult to remediate ..."
Strictly speaking, the natural landscape is not affected by this type of energy, but by this type of energy project.
Peer comment(s):

neutral Jennifer Levey : "effect on" does not properly convey the deleterious impact of PV technology on the landscape.

I agree with you, Robin, about the "deleterious impact" of these projects on the environment; I just don't see this strong language in the ST. "Incidir" can be to influence, to affect, maybe to impinge, but I don't see a basis for stronger than that.
