در زبان انگلیسی, حرف "را" مشخصا وجود نداره. در زبان انگلیسی, مفعول هر کلمه, عبارت و حتی جمله ایست که بعد از فعل متعدی یا ترنریتیو میاد. درنتیجه, تنها نشانه مفعول اینه که بعد از فعل متعدی بیاد.
نشانه معرفه بودن هم حرف "دِ" است = "the"
