As an alternative to the misperceptions view of imperfect information (and in contrast to the models of sticky prices discussed in chapter 6), Mankiw and Reis (2002) argued that sticky information—the slow dispersal of information about macroeconomic conditions—can help account for the sluggish adjustment of prices and for the real effects that occur in response to monetary shocks.
