"Redémarrage" is used everywhere for this type of system -think Windows- although "redémarreur" is used less and often in italics or with a smiley as in the second reference.
But the word is easily understood and gives you the verb too that you'll need in the translation.

: But this describes a different function: e.g. an auto-reboot facility if it crashes. The device here deliberately cycles the equipment through power down / power up (possibly more than once)

Hello Tony. The text said "...if that machine becomes unresponsive during operation" which for me is a crash (hanging is type of crash). Otherwise a simple on/off switch could be said to power down/power up a device (possibly more than once).
