pull-on, push-off button

English to Portuguese Tech/Engineering Manufacturing
Obviously it's a button that you pull to turn something on and push to turn it off. I've got "botão de puxar para ligar e pressionar para desligar", but I was hoping somebody could come up with something more concise. Brazilian Portuguese, please.

Not a "botão de emergência" Sorry, folks. I should have included this context:
"This pull-on, push-off button enables all manual functions."

Maybe it is! I'm beginning to think this is an emergency stop button. You push it to stop and you can't start up again until you pull it back out. That's a bit different than the ones I'm used to, but by jove, I think you've got it!

Not quite, Matheus =) It's not a toggle switch, and it's not simply and on/off button. I wish we could put up photos here, It's a mushroom-head button. You push it, and it turns off whatever it is and stays in that position, until you pull it out to turn the thing on.

Só um detalhe - uma coisa é o método de desarme do botão (push/pull, empurrar/puxar). Poderia ser desarme rotativo, por exemplo. Outra coisa é a função - para que ele é usado.

IMO, se o autor quisesse dizer botão de emergência, não teria por que complicar - seria só dizer emergency button.

Sem falar que há botões de emergência que não são do tipo pull/push.

Mas você tem o texto completo, certamente saberá o que fica melhor ;)
