I am working on a translation related to animated / cartoon movies.
How do you translate the word "sequel" referred to the continuation of a group of movies.
It is "continuación de la serie" ? For instance Toy Story 4
What is the best term to translate the word "franchise" I dont like the word "franquicia" . It believe it refers to a group of movies related to a character or story.
Please advise if you need more clarification. Thanks for your help.

Secuela también se utiliza mucho en este sentido pero creo que por ejemplo en el caso de películas que salen en serie, la palabra "entrega" se utiliza mucho.

: "Entrega" y "saga" me parece bastante natural... :-) (Otra cosa menos natural sería una "entregasaga" pero mejor que entre y ya o que salga y ya... ;-)

Estoy deseando ver la última entrada, pues soy un fan de la franquicia.
You may not like “franquicia,” but it does seem to be the preferred term in these kinds of contexts, and there are many Spanish-language references to the Toy Story franchise specifically that contain the word. I really don’t see the point in cutting and pasting a bunch of these here.
Obviously, there are many ways to translate the original English sentences. I have suggested but one.

Estoy ansioso/a por ver la secuela. Me encanta la saga.
"Secuela" is perfectly fine, it's accurate and it sounds natural in Spanish.
And even though I deem "franquicia" to be acceptable since it's understandable, I don't think it's quite correct. To me, it points more in the direction of a shop that belongs to a chain, rather than a film series...
Perhaps the terms "saga" or "serie" would sound better to a Spanish speaker.
"Saga" is actually a literary genre, but the term is often used to refer to film series.
And I would say that "series" (as in "film series") is the most accurate term.
You can also go with nomenclature related to the amount of films in the series ("bilogía", "trilogía", "tetralogía" and so on), although to me the only one that would sound really natural is "trilogía".
