Environmental impact

Sorry, no Polish here, but I think the usual English term is impact. "Fate" is more abstract and personal and poetic.
Peer comment(s):

disagree Gillian Scheibelein : fate is the standard term. Impact is something else entirely, namely how it interacts and affects the environment

Environmental Fate - effect on the environment. Usually, the result, or 'what happens to the environment'.

Peer comment(s):

neutral Gillian Scheibelein : sorry, you've got it the wrong way round too. See my additional information for a definition.

what happens to the compound

i.e. what happens to the compound ultimately, i.e. is it degraded, is it biodegradeable, or does it remain in its original form, where it ends up (in the soil, absorbed to other materials) etc.

this really is a confusing term for so many:
see:
http://extoxnet.orst.edu/faqs/pesticide/pestfate.htm

What is pesticide environmental fate?
A pesticide’s fate is described by how and where it enters the environment, how long it lasts, and where it goes. Please see Movement of Pesticides in the Environment.
(the last sentence refers to your other question on mobility).

here\'s another link:
Environmental Fate: Where a substance ends up after it is released into the environment. Environmental fate depends on many factors, including transport (e.g., wind, runoff) and transformation processes (e.g., degradation).
