MUSTER Rahmentransportvertrag für Nah- und Fernverkehr EW/MW
Hi,
I'm working on a transportation agreement and could use some further insight/trans suggestions on the above terms. My researches mostly gave me hints such as "short-distance and long-distance traffic" but I'm not sure if that's it, after all. I figure these are terms specific to the German freight forwarding railway system and seem to not have an exact match in EN.
Some context:
Tks!

long and short haul transport
I don't think they would use this in the UK, but if US English is acceptable, that might work.
Note from asker:
Thanks, Michael! This seems to fit the context here! Appreciate all the help!! |
And yes, it's US English. |

: Long- and short-haul. And it's the same in the UK.//Sorry, I thought you were talking about long- and short-haul rather than transport/transportation.

Good to know. And you're good with apostrophes, too. Ahem, hyphens;)

: Routes or movement of goods would get you around the freight transport(ation) issue.//Don't ask me why Americans prefer the longer word. Here's the National Academies Press, Washington, D.C.: https://www.nap.edu/read/14453/chapter/4

Yeah I was inclined to think that transportation is for people and transport for goods but that's probably just me..

: No it isn't. And even if it were, your answer is just a variation on Michael's.

Surely, there is more than one option.

Also, yes, something like long- and short-haul services is used in the UK: https://transportforthenorth.com/wp-content/uploads/Final-In...
@Ramey
Here's a company from Texas: "Third party logistics services provided. Capabilities include transportation, delivery, shipping, and long and short haul trucking services."
https://www.thomasnet.com/profile/30780098/greewalt-logistic...
The other link was from California. Here's Idaho:
"Committee members are appointed by the governor and represent a cross section of the trucking industry, such as agriculture, concrete/aggregate, logging, truck/trailer manufacturing, and long- and short-haul."

EPA: https://www.epa.gov/sites/production/files/2016-10/documents...
...and so on. You can use both, IMO.

I wouldn't use traffic. It's in the dictionary too:
": the length or course of a transportation route
a long haul"
