I think if you try to add the "y el mío" here it will sound forced.
My interpretation is that the writer is vouching for the character of this man, and saying that his future conduct will confirm just how good a judge of character the writer is for recommending him; however, I can't think of a way to express that without it sounding too convoluted or contrived.

If he is leaving a good recommendation, he's certain that the person recommended is gonna leave a good mark and uplift their name. A good way to phrase it would be that they will earn their good name by gaining respect.
