German term

"wird Ihnen nicht nachteilig ausgelegt"

FVA Not for points German to English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general)
Hi, I hope you can help. Commercial document. It's in the context of documents being sent in late, and I think the meaning is 'on this occasion ('hier') late processing of them will not lead to any repurcussions/penalties for you / you will not be disadvantaged', but I can't tie this in definitively with the German, so am concerned I may have misinterpreted it. Also, it needs to be fairly conciliatory in tone, so I would like an elegant phrase, as mentioning penalties would not be helpful.
Many thanks for any help.
Anita.

will not be held against you

That's a standard expression. But please provide a complete quote with sufficient text before and after the queried term so we can provide a more informed opinion.
Note from asker:
Hi, Thanks for the help. I'm sorry but I can't be more specific. I could not find the expression in my sources, so thanks again.

agree Adrian MM. : otherwise, construed if a doc. and interpreted if legislation, though UK judges have been known to mix up the two in the same judgment.//Yes, if a doc. or deed (need not be of land in the UK vs. the USA). Also: will not be construed adversely to yourself.

will not be disadvantaged

This (and the suggestion of Michael Martin) still refers to some sort of penalty (that is avoided).

Usage: "Late submissions will not be disadvantaged."
Note: here it is the action that is characterised, rather than the person. That differs subtly from the source text, but actually probably has the effect of slightly softening the statement, because it refers to judgements on the action, rather than the person.

It you wish even less connection to the concept of a penalty, perhaps you can paraphrase the text to incorporate something like, "discretion will be used"?
