German to English Medical Medical: Health Care Application for approval of medicine
This is a Swiss document regarding an application for approval of a medicine. The full sentence is:

Gemäß der Wegleitung nach Art. 14 abs. 1 ***Bst. abis-quater*** HMG HMV4 muss in der Fachinformation unter den Rubriken 4 bis 16 eine Übersetzung der entsprechenden Texte aus der im ausländischen Staat, auf dessen Zulassung sich das Gesuch abstützt.

Is anyone able to enlighten me? I have a short deadline! Thanks in avance.

The first thing to do in situations like this is to look up the law concerned for clarification. Here it is:

I can't quite see how the reference in your text matches the article, but you should leave "bis" and "quater" unchanged. If you translate them as numbers, as Johanna appears to be suggesting, you create confusion. And it's quater, not quarter.

"Art. 14 Abs. 1 Bst. abis-quater" => Art. 14 Abs. 1.a. bis quarter

Thank you - my education is sadly lacking So it should read as you wrote it, "Art. 14 para. 1 a. 2 - 4"?

I wish I had learned Latin at school.

Latin It’s Latin- sometimes used to indicate subparagraphs under the same paragraph.
bis = two/second), quater= four/fourth, ter- three/third, quinquies would be five/fifth etc.

Gemäss der Wegleitung Zulassung nach Art. 14 Abs. 1 Bst. abis-quater HMG HMV4 muss in der Fachinformation unter den Rubriken 4 bis 16 eine Übersetzung der entsprechenden Texte aus der im ausländischen Staat, auf dessen Zulassung sich das Gesuch abstützt, zuletzt genehmigten Arzneimittelinformation aufgenommen werden.
