4.5 Suction cylinder
The suction cylinder takes over the window film cut off by the knife cylinder and places it onto the glued blank passing through. During conveyance, the window film is kept on the surface of the suction cylinder by suction air. At the time when the window film is transferred to the blank, the machine is switched over from suction air to blast air. Additionally, stripping springs running around the suction cylinder prevent the window film from remaining stuck to the suction cylinder. The suction and blast air is controlled by means of a fixed valve on the driving side.
To avoid infiltrated air, all suction bore holes of the cylinder which are not within the area of the window film have to be sealed with adhesive tape. If suction bore holes leave markings on the window film, additionally open several suction bore holes, as the suction air is too strong in such a case.
