Corn chowder

Me pregunto si el equivalente sería "chupe de choclo", quiero hacer corn chowder para mi familia chilena, pero quiero decirles lo que es en español. Busqué acá mismo en proz.com/search y el equivalente de chowder es chupe.

Me parece que encontraste el nombre justo :)
Dado que es para Chile, creo que choclo se usa más que maíz.

Supongo que no quieres llamarlo "sopa" o "sopa espesa", que es lo más normal y como se suele ver en español.
En realidad, "chupé" parece lo más apropiado, porque recuerda a un guiso (aunque con menos enjundia) y lleva patata. Entiendo que el contexto es LatAm, pero en España no se entendería.
He leído (ref.1) que el nombre puede provenir del tipo de caldero empleado, así que una localización pasable sería "pote", que es a la vez el recipiente y el nombre de numerosos platos de cuchara más o menos contundentes en el NO español.
