Technical report The text does not seem to be aimed at a a "lay audience". And there are more than sufficient examples of usage of "consistent with the schistosity" online for any enquiring mind that can be bothered to look. I don't think dumbing down is required this time. I've translated and revised similar texts for the local univeristy and it always takes me a while to get re-accustomed to the specialist terminology their target journals insist upon. And on the couple of occasions when I've suggested a more "plain English" approach, they have politely refused.

concordant to the schistosity in the adjacent semipelites. The hornblende lies in the foliation and is lineated.

[shis′täs·əd·ē] (geology) A type of cleavage characteristic of metamorphic rocks, notably schists and phyllites, in which the rocks tend to split along parallel planes defined by the distribution and parallel arrangement of platy mineral crystals.

Schistosity, mode of foliation that occurs in certain metamorphic rocks as a consequence of the parallel alignment of platy and lath-shaped mineral constituents. It reflects a considerable intensity of metamorphism—i.e., changes resulting from high temperatures, pressures, and deformation.

Gracias (or conforming)
disagree Andrew Bramhall : unidiomatic and 'schistosity' unintelligible to a lay audience; simply a lazy unresearched attempt at literality (and point-grabbing).

Were you in a bad mood because of Labor Day?
agree Thomas Walker : I think "concordant with" is more common (& how I would translate this), although "concordant to" is found, I think less frequently.

coinciding with the modified rock shapes

"The protruding rocks are formed from rock-shales lined with glass-like minerals and green-coloured chlorite. There are rock faces which are moulded and modified to shapes of varying thickness, with sporadic and distant veins, coinciding with the modified rock shapes."
Example sentence:

"Some shales protrude from igreous rocks (molten rock which cools and hardens), of fine basalt (dark volcanic rock) grain. Most of the rock shales are of glass-like minerals bearing graphite and chlorite."

""Ciertos esquintos proceden de rocas, ígneas de grano fino como basaltos y tobas. La mayoría de los esquistos son de mica, aunque son frecuentes de grafito y clorito."

Reference:

Most of these are concordant with the schistosity and relict (?) bedding of the enclosing metamorphic rocks.
