En geología se denomina esquistosidad a la propiedad de ciertas rocas y suelos, notablemente los esquistos o pizarras, que les lleva a organizarse en láminas o superficies paralelas entre sí.
Está ligada a la microestructura del material, pues en ciertas configuraciones la presencia de una fuerza perpendicular permite la reordenación de los minerales que lo forman.
