Echoes of rito de repercussão geral on ProZ and I can't find tight now, but my answer had been the same, and also of the Italian 'nomilofilactico', namely - as Italian lawyers explained to me -setting a general legal precedent for the sake of key-word: *consistency* of future decisions.
