Estoy traduciendo una constancia de estudios de bachillerato (high school) venezolana:

"... por medio de la presente hace constar que el alumno [nombre], titular de la cédula de identidad [número], se inscribió **en época legal** y actualmente cursa el 5to año de educación media general en esta institución en el año escolar 2021-2022, y ha acumulado en la escala del 01 al 20, desde el 1er año de educación media general hasta el 4to año de educación media general, un promedio general de..."

Nunca había visto esta expresión en una constancia de estudios.

¿Alguien sabe a qué se refiere? Muchas gracias por adelantado

agree Jennifer Levey : I of course agree with 'timeframe' (as per my own answer, although I split it into two words), but 'época´ refers to a period of time, with a start and finish, so it cannot be reduced to 'deadline' which is 'finish' only.

It's as simple as that:" .. hereby certifies that the pupil [name], holder of identity card [number], was enrolled **legally** and is currently in the 5th year of general secondary education at this institution ..."

neutral Jennifer Levey : You cannot simply ignore the word 'época', which alludes to the timing of the enrolment (based on child's age, for example, or the period of the year when enrolments had to be completed).

IOW, the person was registered as a student in accordance with the legal requirements regarding age and other relevant criteria.
