Thank you, Denis. Exonerative is in the same family as exculpatory. Exonerative is not commonly used in jurisprudence and is more absolute. Exculpatory tends or serves to clear from alleged fault or guilt.

Словоблок "на реабилитирующих основаниях" внедрился в русский язык из англоязычной юриспруденции (ст.133 открывает 'Chapter 18. Rehabilitation'), а приведенный мной в моем ответе пример взят из постановления UNITED STATES COURT OF APPEALS.
