Therefore all there is left to be inherited is the other 50% of the assets purchased by the couple within the marriage. This 50% is divided into 4 parts:

2 parts (25% + 25% = 50%) which to be inherited by the children
***1 part (25%) is “cuarta de mejoras” which can be assigned amongst the children as desired***

One-quarter top-up of the statutory portion

Special bequest is IMO too close to a specific legacy of particular property.

Mejora hereditaria : given in addition to a person who, by law, must inherit a given proportion, Butterworths cf. statutory portion and a 'portion-debt' owed by a parent to a child and 'satisfied' by a legacy left in a Will.

An 'advancement' is a life-time top-up.

I know this translation is departing from the 'conventional wisdom', but - from fading City of London memory - is within 'notarially acceptable parameters'.
Example sentence:

As nouns the difference between inheritance and portion is that inheritance is the passing of title to an estate upon death while portion is an allocated amount.

Statutory portion is the part of the estate that cannot be disposed through a will; Disposable portion is on the other hand the part of the estate that can be disposed freely through a will without restrictions. ... The Wills and Succession Law
