From an "Abschußmeldung," dated July 19, 1944, and filed by a squadron of Fighter Wing 3 "Udet," after an American B-17 was shot down:
15. Verwandte Munitionsart: Brd.Sprg.-, Pz.Spr.- u. M.Munition.
I'm assuming "Brd.Sprg.Munition" = high-explosive incendiary ammunition (Brandsprengmunition), and "Pz.Spr.Munition" = high-explosive armor-piercing ammunition (Panzersprengmunition," but I have no clue what "M.Munition" might stand for. I couldn't find that abbreviation in any of the lists of German military abbreviations I consulted. Any ideas?

I believe you are correct.
As for mortar munitions, they do not shoot at aircraft.
