English term

attention and intention are all about shifting energy flow

English Social Sciences General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters mental processes
Dear colleagues,
I’m not sure about the meaning of “are all about” in this sentence:
The mental processes of attention and intention and the experience of awareness, from a 3-P perspective, *** are all about shifting energy flow ***, shifting our positions along a range of probabilities.taken from a book about intraconnection.
The sentence is part of the passage below, taken from a book on intraconnection.
I'm not sure whether “are all about” means: the mental processes of attention and intention consist in the capacity to change energy flow...
Thank you for your help and patience!

The wide-ranging consilience embedded in the 3-P framework is that consciousness may arise from a plane of possibility and that attention connects various states of probability as plateaus and peaks. From a mind perspective linked to physics, we can say that attention directs energy flow. This implies that the very act of intentionally shifting our focus of attention, linked with awareness as the bridge, brings us closer to the plane of possibility, freeing us to access a wider range of probabilities.
**** In this way, the mental processes of attention and intention and the experience of awareness, from a 3-P perspective, are all about shifting energy flow, shifting our positions along a range of probabilities. **** From this framework, it seems clear that the human mind, along with the experience of being aware, shapes how mental processes arise – including our experience of self.
The mental capacity to shape perception, thought, and action would entail shifting how energy is moving along its probability dimensions, from open awareness in the plane, to states of mind and mood in plateaus, up to the actualization of thought, emotion, and memory, for example, as peaks. Mental life would then involve the flow of energy and the ability to monitor it and to modify it – to alter its probability state along these positions from plane to peak

Dear Ice Scream, thank you for this useful Piece of information!
Have a nice Sunday!

All about doesn’t necessarily mean it’s entirely about something to the exclusion of anything else. The phrase can be used more generally. But you know your author best.
haribert (asker) Jul 14, 2023:
Dear Ice Scream and colleagues, I now remember that, according to this author, everything we experience is energy flow, so it makes sense that attention and intention are all about changing energy flow...
Sorry for the previous post... it seems I'm a bit tired...
Thank you so much for your patience!

Dear Ice Scream, thank you for your contribution! Actually, my doubt derives from the fact that "is all about" seems to me a "strong" statement... as if "attention and intention" consisted ONLY in changing energy flow... so maybe your suggestion and also Yvonne's proposal of "pertain" may be more appropriate... What do you think? Thanks again for your help!
