@geraldjames As Phil suggests, perhaps you should close this question, reword posting the correct phrase you require with context (and state the source country too), and not make it a "not for points" question as that limits participation. Colleagues are more inclined to assist you without stating that limitation. BTW, a previous glossary entry for "Extendida en": https://www.proz.com/kudoz/spanish-to-english/law-general/20... (Issued in (some by say "issued at ..."); usually implies that it is a city where the certificate was issued.

Gerald Your question is a mess - you should have a look at how other people have posted theirs. You might even want to delete it and start again, this time putting just the phrase you're looking for in the question header, providing the text containing the phrase, and offering points for a correct answer.

I think I know what it means - the clue is in Ana's answer - but I'd like to see the context.

You've also misunderstood 'expediente de vida', thereby changing the whole meaning of the document.
Taña Dalglish Dec 20, 2023:
@geraldjames Further, you have not said what your source country is, but here is an example from Honduras, where "Extendida en:" is followed by Tegucigalpa https://www.studocu.com/latam/document/universidad-tecnologi... and as mentioned before regarding my concern about the word "veriñcar", it is "verificar" as shown in this document.
Taña Dalglish Dec 20, 2023:
@geraldjames Neither of the two passages of text posted contain "Extendida en a los UN ..." It would be nice if you could provide us with the actual sentences where this portion of the text appears. Personally, I have never seen "veriñcar", but assume it could possibly be "verificar" meaning "to verify (?).

By the way, why is this question "Not for points"?
Peer comment(s):

neutral philgoddard : Your answer and explanation are unclear, and so is the question,. but you may be on to something. Also, extendida doesn't mean extended here.

agree neilmac : Although I prefer "Issued on...",the niggardly "not-for-points" dissuades me from spending any time on the query.
