Einspezifizieren

"Ermöglicht wurde dies durch das konsequente Einspezifizieren unserer Lösungen in den vergangenen Jahren."

I think this is Swiss German. It is for a company that develops and manufactures components and system solutions for electrical and optical connectivity.

The text itself is in a 2023 management report providing a summary of the company's financial figures in its different divisions for the previous year.

Does it mean something like streamlining, refining etc.?

One more.. In a brochure, it says that a certain company could "unter anderem Projekte für bestehende Fertigungen gewinnen, bei denen unsere [Produkte] zum Einsatz kamen..." and on top of that, they could "unsere Klimatisierungslösungen bei Maschinenbauern einspezifizieren."

Not going to name the business; although not based in Switzerland, it might be partnering with the organization Katy is translating for.

The best I can come up with right now is something like "...having our (design) specifications incorporated into..." if that helps any [or the more flowery version: "having others use our specifications as a blueprint for their..."].

Bitte frage mich nicht, wie; die Internetsuche wird anhand der Masse an Seiten immer anspruchsvoller und deshalb die Ergebnisse zufälliger.

Ich habe auch einmal ohne ein- gesucht und Folgendes gefunden:
"Wer die Elektronik versteht, kann durch die geschickte Verknüpfung von Einzelsystemen mehr Leistungsfähigkeit für das System Auto rausholen. Zudem mindert das Systemverständnis die Abhängigkeit vom Zulieferer, weil Sie als Hersteller einzelne Systemkomponenten spezifizieren und damit viel günstiger einkaufen können."

@Björn Mein erster Gedanke ging auch in diese Richtung. Anpassung an Kundenanforderungen. Konnte aber zu diesem Begriff neben dem Tesa-Link von AllegroTrans nur diese Pressemitteilung finden (Fundstelle am Textende):

I'd have said... ...this sounds like customization because it's done during product development. I can try asking someone living in CH, though the term may not be Swiss. I saw something about Einspezifizierung at OEMs in automotive, which makes me think of "built to spec."

More context I think maybe I need to give more context.

The 'dies' that was 'ermöglicht' was 'positiven Entwicklung' of the division being discussed, so I don't think 'specification' or 'factor into the spec.' fits I'm afraid.
The sentences go together as follows (I've omitted some information as I don't want to disclose the company details):
"Das Segment profitierte von der positiven Entwicklung in der XXX sowie im XXXsbereich. Ermöglicht wurde dies durch das konsequente Einspezifizieren unserer Lösungen in den vergangenen Jahren. Auch steigende XXXetats trugen zu dieser Entwicklung bei."

I would love to have the perspective of a Swiss native on this.

neutral philgoddard : I don't think this conveys a clear meaning - who is doing the specifying? Why the 'ein-'? Your second reference makes me think it might mean marketing to ensure that other companies specify their products rather than someone else's.
