português term
Uricanase
português para inglês
Medicina
Medicina (geral)
Method cited for determining uric acid. I can't find any real hits for this and I'm wondering if it's perhaps a typo in source, or is anyone familiar with this (Brazilian Portuguese)? and its EN equivalent? help would be much appreciated.

Just a sheer guess. See my post on the Discussion Board.
Note from asker:
Hi Olivier, as mentioned in the discussion, uroquinase would be a Portuguese term which is the wrong translation direction, the translation is to be INTO English, not from, sorry if it wasn't clear. |

I believe that the source text could be rather generalized here, and the form of test could possibly only be known to the author - i.e. perhaps a vague description, as forms can sometimes be.

: Possibly, but where do you think 'uricanase' comes from? And isn't it a circular statement to say that you test for uric acid by doing a uric acid test?

Yes, but could be that the original text has been composed too generally (without specifying) - see new added note.

If so, translate as "uroquinase": https://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uroquinase
