Spanish term

MEDI y MEES

Spanish to English Other Ships, Sailing, Maritime accommodation quarters
tech. spec...
found MEDI = Marine Environment Data Information.....
however didn't find MEES......

query: could someone explain to me (please) (i am extremely dense)....just exactly how to go about Google searching terms......on a few occasions once i have posted a term on proz, someone has said "try a google search next time"....i must be so undescribably thick that i don't have any luck with this...if i type in a spanish term (into google), i get back a nice long list of web sites that include that very term....in spanish!!! of no use to me whatsoever....there must be some trick to it.....please forward instructions.....thanks loads

watch out for incoming mail! let me know if you need further help :O)
That way, even if you type a word in, say, Spanish, but you chose English as the language you want your Google hits to be in, you'll get pages in English which contain the Spanish term. If this sounds confusing, please ask me more! :P
In Google, just click on "Advanced Search" (is that tiny text right next to the Google logo), and you'll find something that says "Language --> Return pages written in..." and then you pick a language of the list.

thanks again felicite, i'll keep trying....i've got this mexican spanish spec. and i know all the english terms, but i have to fit them to mexican spanish, as i have found that they seem to "americanize" their own language....get back to you soon...

Marine Environmental Education Specialist for MEES (now it is becoming confusing). You need to check against your context.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "thanks loads for all the hints...you wouldn't believe what medi and mees is.... Maintenace of Dynamic Equipment Information (office), and Maintenance of Static Equipment Services (office) as far as i can see they got their abreviations mixed up language wise, or at least they are in the wrong order...you just never know eh? :- ))"

a hint

Just type for example MEDI and marine and then scan the list of subjects and then use the terminology in the text you have chosen and go on like that.

See if it works and I can help you more if you need.
