English term

potting shed

English to German Tech/Engineering Transport / Transportation / Shipping Transportwagen (Trolleys)

Gartengeraetschuppen

So Pons.

I can assure you, that's what a potting shed is in English, except that you should actually be able to work in it (to "pot" is to plant things into pots). I know it's odd to think of carrying a shed around on a barrow, but that's what it says!

Gartengeräteschuppen...thanks Hans. I can\'t do umlauts easily, and so I had to put in an extra \"e\", and forgot the \"e\" that was already there.

Gartenschuppen--suggested by Gisela, seconded by Manfred. I like this too.

\"Potting\" is of course putting plants in pots, but the term has become more general. It\'s more for \"pottering\" than just potting.
Peer comment(s):

agree Hans G. Liepert : Gartengeräteschuppen, to be more precise, maybe Treibhaus as well?

Sorry. I'd already put one "e" in, and so I forgot the other. I don't think of a potting shed as being heatable; so "Treibhaus" might be a bit "uebertrieben"!

I agree on both points. With a name like "Greenlee", it's not surprising you know about gardening!

agree Klaus Herrmann : Put the shed on castors and forget about it.

Good idea!

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer.

neutral Richard Benham : It would be just as easy to use "Gartenschuppen". After all, if the client wants to claim is wheelbarrow is able to move large buildings around, who are we to argue?
