without working for it

Hvad med "we won't (/will not) get anything without working for it"?
Peer comment(s):

agree Pernille Chapman : All the suggestions are good, but as the context seems to be within a company, I think this one creates the right associations.

we aren't given something for nothing

this is the meaning of forærende. To give something away for free. It is not a matter of course.
Peer comment(s):

neutral Michael Tettinek : Yes, viable too, but in this context I prefer my suggestion.

Windfall

Here you use the expression: "It is not a windfall". See. Vinterberg & Bodelsen Da-eng dictionary.

Nothing comes to us automatically

This is my suggestion. I take this sentence as being idiomatic. "få forærende" can mean "to be handed something on a plate" and I would suggest that if it wasnt a commercial text. Could say perhaps "nothing is for free"

we will have to work for it

Depending on the text that has to be translated, 'forærende' can be translated in various ways, as you will see from the answers, but I think my suggestion 'fits the bill'. Good luck!
