Explanation:
Architectural Highlights

First a trading post, then a gold-rush town, naval base, and sleepy provincial capital, Victoria bears architectural witness to all these eras. What Vancouver mostly demolished, Victoria saved, so you really do have a feast of heritage buildings to enjoy. The best of Victoria's buildings date to the pre-World War I years, when gold poured in from the Fraser and Klondike rivers, fueling a building boom responsible for most of downtown.

Those architectural witnesses go from Schinkel’s classic buildings to the architectural frontpieces of I.M. Pei and Daniel Libeskind. The differences between East and West are hardly visible anymore, and the leftovers from the Wall have become a touristic attraction of its own.

memorials, monuments, landmarks (depending on the intended usage)

Explanation:
If the architectural structures is built specifically to commemorate a person or an even, it is called a "memorial."

The word "monument" is also used for the same meaning, as it derives from words also referring to memory, but "monument" usually carries the additional connotation of great magnitued (typically expressed in outstanding height).

If the symbolic value is attached to the structure in retrospect, based on the significance of its history or on its sheer architectural value, the structure is called a "landmark."
