Arabic term

عين الذيب

Arabic to English Science Esoteric practices plant or animal?
The original text is a recipe for making a particular incense for treatment. It just says: "collect all the ingredients, grind them and cense the person with the mixture", that's all the instructions with a list of the ingredients without any further explanation. The problem is with a few names which I don't understand and can not find in any dictionary or reference. So either they are some obscured titles, or some kind of rural names of the given herb/resin known only to the author.

This name "wolf's eye" may be an actual animal part but I was told there is a herb with the same name. Unfortunately, I can't find what is this plant?

I think you need to check with a herbalist, as the names of herbs may differ in Arabic speaking countries

These are found in " Rare Species Rhazya stricta Decne. (Apocynaceae), is known in Egypt only from Kharga Oasis. Its occurrence in Kharga represents the westernmost locality in its geographical range of distribution, which extends eastwards to Arabia, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India, and southwards into Sudan. The above three endemic species, as well as the rare Rhazya, are known only from one or very few collections, and are therefore to be classified as threatened species.": http://whc.unesco.org/en/tentativelists/1808/

Rhazya stricta Decne

As I noted in the discussion entry, each country has a different name. In Iraq, it turned out that we call it Harmal.
Sorry about the fishy sites, but that's how I managed to see the name in my dialect.
Good luck
