Catalan term

semideprimit

Catalan to English Tech/Engineering Architecture Urban Planning
This is from a section of an urban planning text dealing with the expansion of the Cerdà template out to the Besòs area.

Does it mean the road was slightly sunken? There is an aerial photo accompanying the text, which does not seem to confirm that hypothesis. But then it is difficult to gauge ground depth from several hundred feet in the air.

Hancock's Half Hour Actually, before someone corrects me, I just looked it up. Hancock's fictional address was:
23 The Railway Cuttings
East Cheam ;)

in a shallow cutting

I've taken this ugly road many times. In fact, I entered the city for the very first time on it, in 1976. Quite a shock. After Plaça de les Glòries it runs in a shallow cutting, now fitted with noise-reducing panelling designed by Marialles and Tagliabue. Check it out on google stret view.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Cutting!!! Of course. "65 The Railway Cuttings, Cheam" ;) That word forced me to do a major revision of that section. Thank you so much. Why didn't it occur to me? Been away too long?"
