Probably another case of leave it as is - and add a translation of any explanation you might find).

Apparently the other term for this vessel is a Navelli (see link below). But that seems to refer to a type of ship built by some Italian shipbuilders of that name.

You might find this site below useful in offering some pirate ship definitions - although the music is cheesy :-)
