Chinese term

按着揍

Chinese to English Other Sports / Fitness / Recreation
Context: 不过我看完第二节出去饭局,感觉当时已经基本扭转形势按着揍了,翻盘早晚的事。

I've googled the term and from the numerous example I get the sense that it means "to beat". However, I still don't have a full enough grasp for a precise translation.

Thanks in advance for any help.

pin down and beat

This phrase is a very colloquial expression most commonly found in northern dialects. It literally means "to pin down your opponent and beat him". In here I think it looks like a basketball match where the opponent team has already been overwhelmed. So the speaker here has the surety of the outcome and just just goes out and eat.

agree Aaron Gilkison (X) : we might also say something like "it was already over" or something along those lines...

one-sided

I agree with the explanation above, and provide another option here. Say "the game has basically turned one-sided".
