my text (a user manual for a vertical product conveyor system):
'Valhek beveiliging
Geplaatst bij doorgangen op gevaarlijke hoogte. Op de plaatsen waar zich doorgangen bevinden op gevaarlijke hoogte (bv. palletdoorgang naar palletlift), dan moet deze beveiligd worden tegen vallen met een valhek. Dit is een pneumatisch gestuurde reling. Op het moment als er geen doorgang van product (bv. pallet) is, dan is het valhek gesloten en gelijk aan een reling. If we're really being pedantic, "drop-down gate" is a tautology unless you live in a zero-gravity environment :-)
