Nederlands naar Engels Juridisch / patenten Juridisch (algemeen) deed of gift
Obviously, I know that 'sterkmaking' means 'strengthening', but I do not know whether that is the best translation in this case: 'De comparanten sub 1 en 4 verklaren de schenking te aanvaarden hen gedaan bij akte verleden voor ondergetekende notaris op elf dezer en bekrachtigen dus de sterkmaking vermeld in voormelde akte'.

This is a deed of gift on the death of a person. Unfortunately, I do not know what the 'voormelde akte' is either.

Uit http://www.fisconet.fgov.be: "De sterkmaking is per definitie een figuur waarbij één partij belooft aan een andere de toestemming van een derde te zullen verkrijgen in verband met een door deze derde aan te gane verbintenis.

How was the 'sterkmaking' described in the said deed?? Then again, is this a Flemish document? If so, the term may have a different meaning from the Dutch usage (= making a strong effort; guarantee the fulfilment of someone's obligations).

To purelythebest, my dictionary also gives that translation, but it did not seem appropriate in the case of a mother gifting a property to her children.

'letter to answer for a subsidiary' is not the correct translation but it may be of some help when considering your own translation.
