Dictation software issues...! This ER Report was dictated, so there are spelling or other errors out of our immediate control! Thank you, thank you, thank you for your excellent suggestions. Dictation software sometimes backfires - some of the reports were 100% perfect in their written form, but these two today were horrible!
Barend van Zadelhoff Jan 24, 2023:
You were just a second faster with 'patellapees' (two minds moving in the same direction ;-)) plus that you came up with the meaning of 'delle'.

So it is up to you in this case.
Please do.

I also found that 'dent' can be used for 'inzinking'.

an agree is coming your way.

Ruchira Raychaudhuri Jan 24, 2023:
@Barend.. Oh, sorry, I didn't realise you were talking to me, I thought you meant it as a suggestion to the asker! Go ahead, please offer the translation :)
Barend van Zadelhoff Jan 24, 2023:
If you don't, I will. :-)
Barend van Zadelhoff Jan 24, 2023:
Agree with 'pattellapees'

Just wanted to suggest it.

I suggest you offer a translation for:

Inzinking ter plaatse van de patellapees.
Ruchira Raychaudhuri Jan 24, 2023:
patellapees (patellar tendon) Perhaps 'pale a pees' is meant to be 'patellapees'? If it's from a scanned document which somebody has tried to decipher or perhaps due to a misprint/typo/etc...
Barend van Zadelhoff Jan 24, 2023:
Never heard of it, but "delle" can even be found in Pinkhof:

Seems to be a German word: https://en.pons.com/translate/german-dutch/Delle
Barend van Zadelhoff Jan 24, 2023:
I can't believe this is what is in the Dutch text.

These elements are highly unlikely:

delle
pale
a

Could you just post what you find in the Dutch text?
That is, what is preceding and what is following this part?
Do not give your own translations.

Thank you.

Indentation at the patellar tendon

In addiiton to the discussion entries above..

If this relates in any way to a patellar tendon tear, then this kind of indentation is often described as "An indentation or sunken area beneath your knee in the front" (https://www.mymosh.com/orthopedics/what-you-should-know-abou...
or
"An indentation at the bottom of your kneecap where the patellar tendon tore" (https://orthoinfo.aaos.org/en/diseases--conditions/patellar-...

Best to check first with the source document to see whether 'pale a pees' could be a typo/misprint for 'patellapees'!
Peer comment(s):

agree Barend van Zadelhoff : Good idea to look further with respect to this 'inzinking'. Even if it isn't a tear (I suspect it is), 'indentation' / 'sunken area' (nice) would still be okay.

Thanks, it was a joint effort! :)
Something went wrong...
4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Original Dutch version was from a voice dictation software, so "pale a pees" should have read "patellapees". Thanking both Ruchira and Barend for their excellent detective work!!"
