However, we actually never got any context from Richard, and I am actually still wondering why they they used the word "confectie" in "peesconfectie". Makes me think of fabric, sort of, rather than a strip/string/cord/ribbon.

@ Michael In dit geval verwijst 'pees' vooral naar het vormaspect (koord, strip, band) en minder naar het functieaspect, hoewel het stevig materiaal zou kunnen zijn, zo taai als een pees.

'pees' heeft meerdere betekenissen, zie van Dale: 7 betekenissen

o.a. snoer van samengevlochten darmen of draden.

Het element 'tensioning' speelt hier een rol omdat je met die 'verdikte rand' (de 'pees' op het doek) het doek makkelijker in het spanframe / 'stretchframe' kunt strekken/spannen en fixeren, het materiaal zelf oefent echter geen actieve kracht uit, het wordt eerder onder spanning gezet.

In de context van een 'stretch frame' zou je echter kunnen zeggen:

'strip of strong material used to facilitate stretching and fixation of fabrics placed into a stretch frame'

Could you call it, in the context of a stretch frame, a 'stretch strip' ?

Basically it is a strip/string/cord/ribbon of some kind of (strong) material.

maybe elastic isn't the best word, but there is definitely an element of tensioning there.

interesting:

pees = tendon: "A flexible but inelastic cord of strong fibrous collagen tissue attaching a muscle to a bone." [Oxforddictionaries.com]

i.e., a tendon is more than just a cord (as per your "Punt 1"), it is "a flexible but inelastic cord".

how about: "tensioning strip" or "tension strip"?

Niet per se elastisch.

Het materiaal kan verschillen.

Punt 1 is: een 'pees' is een 'strip/ koord/ streng/ band'.

Punt 2 is: dit zijn de voorbeelden die we tot nu toe hebben:

platte siliconen pees
siliconen peesconfectie
koord
silicon edge
thin silicone strip
gasket

Die 'pees' wordt rondom op de rand van het doek aangebracht om het doek makkelijker in het frame te plaatsen/in het frame te fixeren.

Textieldoeken & frames

Op zoek naar een manier om een afbeelding of foto subtiel op een muur te presenteren? Met een verwisselbaar element? Ga dan voor een textielframe met doek.

Deze eenvoudige, niet opzichtige manier van beeldpresentatie, vind z'n weg in steeds meer bedrijven en winkels. De basis is een aluminium profiel van 19 mm. dik, met aan de zichtzijde een minimale omlijsting.
Het verwisselbare doek is gemaakt van ca. 210 gr. polyester, op basis van full colour bedrukking. Deze wordt rondom voorzien van een platte siliconen pees, zodat het gemakkelijk in het profiel geschoven kan worden.

Banier Hangend

Een prachtig ophangsysteem voor een banier waarbij het doek met een pees secuur in de aluminium profielen wordt geschoven voor een mooi strak resultaat. Het systeem kan zelfs uitgebreid worden om de display dubbelzijdig te maken.
