I am proofreading a translation. The Chinese text I have goes "请选择语种", I want to change it into "请选择语言". Am I too picky?

Explanation:
In English speaking countries when people say:" Please choose your language." most of the time it means that someone else is being rude, like saying dirty worde, or cursing. People want them to choose better words to talk.
