“do not count" 在这个语境好像应该是 not acknowledged 的含义。因为之前有提到年青人认为自己活在无助的处境,人家 “不在乎” 他们的地位 no one cares,也包括感觉在内。他们需要的是人们的 “认可”,有 “被接纳” 的含义。
