"U ovom momentu, jedini način da se banke i korisnici zaštite od falsifikovanja kartica su, čip-kartice.

Kod ovih kartica su takve zloupotrebe potpuno nemoguće, jer čip-karica ima ugrađen "mali računar". ... banka planira da u toku ove godine, pored viza čip-kartica, i celokupan masterkardov program zameni čip-karticama, umesto dosadašnjih magnetnih kartica... Takođe se uvode i kamere za posmatranje okoline bankomata i nove kartice koje umesto magnetne trake imaju čip, čime se otežava kopiranje podataka."
