For avoidance of doubt: the net exposure is the residual exposure to any energy and commodity price risk after
application, if any, of pass-through formulas (see glossary for the “pass-through” definition). Only a net exposure
can be hedged.

Glossary:
Pass Through: this is Business Unit passing; by contracts, regulation or any other right; cost of any energy or
commodities bought to an external counterparty. Note that pass through is sometime partial or with significant
time lags.
