The financial performance as presented in this report is taken from the consolidated accounts of Techtronic (2000) Limited, the company that acquired MG Rover Group Limited, and represents the performance of the MG Rover Group business for the period 9 May to 31 December, 2000. During this period the loss before exceptional items and tax was £(254)M as compared to the Business Plan target of £(262)M. This compares to a profit on ordinary activities before taxation, as shown in the profit and loss account on page 10, of £35M. The loss figure does not take account of the exceptional items shown left.
