digt de gant
The EN is SO BAD here, it's hard to be sure of anything!
I just wanted to point out that it would be VERY RARE for a naked 'themometer bulb' to be found inside aheat-exchanger, which is why I suspect they in fact mean the 'thermometer pocket' (or perhaps the themometer inside it, if they would really use on of those?!) into which the temperature-sensing device would be fitted. This kind of 'pocket' could, I suppose, be considered as some kind of 'bulb' by a non-native speaker — with the same sort of imagery as a 'doigt de gant'.
