Good afternoon. Your paragraph seems to be referring to a new US regulation, so I assume no official translation exists so far. Based on my understanding of the FINRA guidelines and additional sources, those securities are investment products backed by insurance contracts whose annual yields depend on the fact the subscriber is alive or not, on the one hand and the performance of an underlying product, on the other hand. In the French version of the FINRA rules, the expression "contrats variables" is the only one describing that concept.
